## About
CALYP (Centre d'Art Lyrique de Paris) was founded in 2015 by Adeline Toniutti, classical and pop singer, vocal coach, singing teacher on French Star Academy (TF1), and collaborator at the Paris Opera. CALYP offers individual singing lessons, multi-day masterclasses, voice clinic consultations and public-speaking coaching. Its pedagogy is based on the "Anatomy of Singing" method, validated by 26 voice and body specialists (ENT surgeons, phoniatricians, osteopaths, speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychiatrists).

## The Anatomy of Singing method (5 pivot points)
1. Posture, establish the physical foundation for optimal vocal production.
2. Laryngeal movement, understand and activate the precise laryngeal mechanisms for singing.
3. Exhalation, master breath control for sustained and powerful vocal emission.
4. Resonance, free the natural resonating cavities of the body for projection and timbre.

CALYP accompanies children and adolescents with language disorders through a singing-based method developed with 26 medical specialists, in complement to traditional speech therapy (orthophonie). Reviewed by Dr Gilles Zah-Bi (neurosurgeon, MD, MSc Neurosciences, Hôpital Foch / Paris 16e).

**Why singing helps**: singing simultaneously activates Broca's area (language production), Wernicke's area (comprehension), motor cortex (articulation), auditory cortex (perception), cerebellum (rhythmic coordination) and limbic structures (emotion). This synchronised activation of normally separate circuits is what makes it a powerful complement to speech therapy.

**Approach**: ludic, personalised sessions adapted to each child's singularity. The method does NOT replace orthophonie, it complements it. Anatomy of Singing's 5 pivot points (posture, laryngeal movement, exhalation, resonance, articulation) provide the bodily anchors children can feel and reproduce.

**When to seek help**: bilan recommended if no words at 18 months, few word-associations at 24 months, unintelligible speech at 3 years, or persistent articulation/comprehension difficulties at 5-6 years.

## Masterclasses (intensive singing retreats)

CALYP organises international singing masterclasses 2-3 times a year in Brittany (seaside manor) and Paris.
