# CALYP, Centre d'Art Lyrique de Paris > Vocal arts centre in Paris, France. Singing lessons, vocal coaching, international masterclasses, and a voice clinic run by 26+ medical specialists. Founded by Adeline Toniutti, singing teacher on French TV show Star Academy and collaborator at the Paris Opera. ## About CALYP (Centre d'Art Lyrique de Paris) was founded in 2015 by Adeline Toniutti, classical and pop singer, vocal coach, singing teacher on French Star Academy (TF1), and collaborator at the Paris Opera. CALYP offers individual singing lessons, multi-day masterclasses, voice clinic consultations and public-speaking coaching. Its pedagogy is based on the "Anatomy of Singing" method, validated by 26 voice and body specialists (ENT surgeons, phoniatricians, osteopaths, speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychiatrists). ## The Anatomy of Singing method (5 pivot points) 1. Posture, establish the physical foundation for optimal vocal production. 2. Laryngeal movement, understand and activate the precise laryngeal mechanisms for singing. 3. Exhalation, master breath control for sustained and powerful vocal emission. 4. Resonance, free the natural resonating cavities of the body for projection and timbre. 5. Articulation, achieve clear diction while maintaining vocal quality across all registers. ## Key pages - [Home](https://www.calyp.fr/), overview of all services and the team - [Adeline Toniutti](https://www.calyp.fr/adeline-toniutti/), biography, credentials, media appearances - [Singing lessons](https://www.calyp.fr/cours-de-chant/), individual vocal coaching (Paris, Geneva, Brussels, online) - [Singing lessons Paris](https://www.calyp.fr/cours-de-chant-paris/) - [Singing lessons Geneva](https://www.calyp.fr/cours-de-chant-geneve/) - [Singing lessons Brussels](https://www.calyp.fr/cours-de-chant-a-bruxelles-academie-adeline-toniutti/) - [Singing lessons online](https://www.calyp.fr/cours-de-chant-en-visioconference-academie-adeline-toniutti/) - [Masterclasses](https://www.calyp.fr/masterclasses/), intensive group retreats in Brittany - [Winter 2027 Masterclass](https://www.calyp.fr/masterclass-hiver-2027/), Brittany, Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, bookings open - [Summer 2027 Masterclass](https://www.calyp.fr/masterclass-ete-2027/), Brittany, Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, bookings open - [July 2026 Summer Masterclass](https://www.calyp.fr/masterclass-de-juillet-2026/), Brittany, past edition - [March 2026 Spring Masterclass](https://www.calyp.fr/masterclass-de-mars-2026/), past edition - [Voice Clinic](https://www.calyp.fr/clinique-de-la-voix/), vocal health topics written by Adeline Toniutti and reviewed by medical specialists - [Language disorders in children & teens](https://www.calyp.fr/troubles-du-langage/), dysphasia, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD (TDAH), autism spectrum, articulation difficulties, language delay; singing-based rehabilitation method co-developed with neurosurgeon Dr Gilles Zah-Bi. Yes. The method was developed in collaboration with 26 medical voice and body specialists: ENT surgeons, phoniatricians, osteopaths, speech therapists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, psychiatrists. It is the foundation of a yearly international voice symposium held by CALYP. ### What is the twang technique? The twang is a specific laryngeal configuration (narrowing of the aryepiglottic sphincter) that produces a bright, carrying sound with low vocal effort. It's widely used in contemporary singing styles (musical theatre, pop, rock, country) and is particularly useful for high notes and projection. Read our detailed article: https://www.calyp.fr/le-twang/ ### Who is in the Voice Clinic team? Medical and paramedical specialists including Dr Romain Pérouse (ENT surgeon), Dr Bruno Coulombeau (phoniatrician), Dr Jean Charmoille (psychiatrist and psychoanalyst), Jean-Marie Lège (osteopath), Estelle Molténis (sports physiotherapist), and more. She also hosts the annual International Voice Symposium. ## Language disorders in children & teens (troubles du langage) CALYP accompanies children and adolescents with language disorders through a singing-based method developed with 26 medical specialists, in complement to traditional speech therapy (orthophonie). Reviewed by Dr Gilles Zah-Bi (neurosurgeon, MD, MSc Neurosciences, Hôpital Foch / Paris 16e). **Conditions covered**: - Language delay (retard de langage), temporal lag with normal development trajectory - Language disorders (troubles du langage), atypical, persistent despite stimulation, requiring specialised care - Dysphasia (dysphasie), structural and durable disorder of oral language development - Dyslexia (dyslexie), specific learning disorder of reading, typically detected at school entry - Dyspraxia (dyspraxie verbale), motor-articulation difficulty - Articulation disorders (troubles de l'articulation) - Communication delay associated with autism spectrum disorder (TSA) - ADHD (TDAH), language and communication impact - Cognitive-origin disorders - Environmental-origin disorders (screen overexposure, lack of stimulation) **Why singing helps**: singing simultaneously activates Broca's area (language production), Wernicke's area (comprehension), motor cortex (articulation), auditory cortex (perception), cerebellum (rhythmic coordination) and limbic structures (emotion). This synchronised activation of normally separate circuits is what makes it a powerful complement to speech therapy. **Approach**: ludic, personalised sessions adapted to each child's singularity. The method does NOT replace orthophonie, it complements it. Anatomy of Singing's 5 pivot points (posture, laryngeal movement, exhalation, resonance, articulation) provide the bodily anchors children can feel and reproduce. **When to seek help**: bilan recommended if no words at 18 months, few word-associations at 24 months, unintelligible speech at 3 years, or persistent articulation/comprehension difficulties at 5-6 years.
